Spencer Conservation Commission approves Marble Road residential project despite vernal pool concerns. The board voted unanimously to approve a Notice of Intent at 25 Marble Road after engineers revised the site plan, relocating the house away from the buffer zone and installing underground recharge units for stormwater management. Neighbors Shirley and Dennis Shiver testified during the public hearing that the project violated the Wetlands Protection Act and could damage a verified vernal pool by removing forest canopy.
The commission also continued a public hearing on Department of Conservation and Resources upgrades to Howe State Park's office building and approved an Order of Conditions extension through June 30, 2027 for the high school renovation at 302 Main Street.
