Spencer Finance Committee approves $10,000 Fire Department equipment transfer. Fire Chief Bob Parsons requested the transfer for equipment repair, and the committee voted unanimously to move the funds from the Finance Committee reserve account. Town Administrator Jeff Bridges warned of fiscal pressures ahead, including a $159,646 increase in the town's retirement system assessment for fiscal year 2027.
The Spencer Rescue Squad will cease operations by June 30, 2026; the town is evaluating private ambulance service versus in-house Fire Department operations.
