Spencer's Board of Selectmen approved four contracts including a three-year IT services deal. The Board unanimously approved agreements with ClearCom IT Solutions for managed IT services, BETA Group for paving inspection on East Charlton Road, the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission for grant administration on a Fire Station weatherization project, and a Community Compact Grant for broadband expansion. The Board deferred action on a precious metals dealer bylaw amendment requested by Cormier Jewelers to reduce holding periods, with Police Chief Michael Befford recommending further research, and discussed intersection safety at Meadow Road and Pleasant Street, where the four-way stop has eliminated accidents since installation.
