Spencer Board continues National Grid public hearing pending site plan details. At a formal hearing on National Grid's proposal to expand the Meadow Road substation from 40 to 95 megavolt-ampere capacity, residents raised concerns about pole placement, tree removal on Charlton Road, and potential wetlands impacts. The Board unanimously voted to continue the hearing pending detailed site sketches.
The Board also unanimously approved entertainment and liquor licenses for The Savage Foundation's mini-golf fundraiser at the Spencer Fairgrounds (July 11-12) and a weekly farmers market license for Rapscallion Brewery (Saturdays June through Columbus Day), and unanimously approved a legal services contract with Napoli Shkolnick PLLC for participation in a class action firetruck-pricing lawsuit.
