Spencer Finance Committee reviews eight department budgets for FY2027. Chair Mary Braney and the Board of Selectmen held presentations from eight departments on March 10, with Parks and Recreation posting the most significant cuts of $35,490, including elimination of a coordinator position and reduced parking attendants, partially offset by a $6,000 St. Joseph's Abbey donation.
The Treasurer/Collector budget declined $22,052, while the Town Clerk budget increased $6,989 to cover three elections in FY2027 versus one in FY2026, and the Town Accountant budget rose $18,190 including a new ambulance service audit. Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical School's minimum required local contribution totaled $1,560,828.
