Spencer Selectmen demand sidewalk contractor fix accessibility violations at no cost. The board voted unanimously to order B.R. Bak Enterprises to remove and replace noncompliant transitions at four Ash Street locations that failed state and federal standards.

The Selectmen also unanimously approved entertainment and beverage licenses for fall events including Daniel Hayes's September 13 motorcycle show, Rapscallion Brewery's Oktoberfest, and Cedric Daniel's wine and malt license for the Spencer Fair, while deferring the Agricultural Association's fair license. The board held a public hearing on National Grid's proposal to upgrade the Meadow Road substation from 40 to 95 megavolt amperes capacity and upgrade 4.5 miles of distribution infrastructure to improve reliability and outage response time.
